Greater Capacity / Custom Solutions
Customization
Unlike the MMARS system, our competitor’s system has fewer lengths/capacities of ramps to offer. The length of the main ramps they offer is fixed at 94”. This means you may end up buying more length of ramp that is really not necessary and pay more. (Not to mention you have more pieces to setup and store).
MMARS is different in that we customize your solution to meet your exact needs. We use materials that not only give you more capacity, but our main ramps can be up to 14” longer than the competitor’s main ramps. Let's assume you need 208” of main ramps. You could purchase 2 pairs of MMARS ramps which were each 104” long. You would also purchase 1 pair of stands that connect those ramps together. With our competitor's product you would have to purchase 3 pairs of 94” main ramps and 2 pairs of stands to achieve the required 208" length. Additionally, you would get less capacity with their system.
In regards to capacity, the MMARS system offers more choices than our competitor’s product. Why purchase a 26,500 lb. max axle, 36” wide solution if all you need is a 21,000 lb. max axle system where the ramps are 36” wide?
Capacity
If you need the GREATEST capacity available (You never know what you may need to load in the future), the MMARS system is the ONLY system that offers a 30,000 lb. max axle solution.
Here is a summary of the offerings of the 2 systems:
Pedestals
On the “Configuration Overview” page of this website the 2 types of configurations are discussed. These are the “Approach Shoring UNDER the aircraft ramp” and the “Approach Shoring OVER the aircraft ramp. MMARS offers both.
When using the “Approach Shoring UNDER the aircraft ramp” pedestals to support the aircraft itself are needed. Landsport manufactures these pedestals using the same lightweight, aircraft grade aluminum the ramps/stands are made out of. On many of the pedestals we attach handles for ease of movement.
Landsport can customize these pedestals to meet your specific needs. Trying to offer pedestals that will work on the C5, C17 and C130 aircraft is the goal in order to limit the overall number of pedestals. Landsport will work with the ATTLA in identify the shoring system configuration which will allow this if possible. Here are just a few pieces of the shoring pedestals we offer. As you can see, we clearly label which aircraft(s) uses the pedestal and the location(s) the pedestal is used at.
